Samuel E. Slaiby; Treasurer

Sam is a life-long resident of Torrington. He attended local schools and graduated from Assumption College and Vermont Law School. He is an Army Veteran who served in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star and Army Commendation medals in 1970 for his wartime service. He served as the former Executive Director and General Counsel to the State Elections Commission from 1977-1979 and has practiced law in Torrington for 26 years. He currently serves as Chairman of the Torrington Housing Authority and was a founder and co-chairman of First Night Torrington. He has been married to his wife Jane for 30 years and they have 4 children, Thomas, Alicia, Aaron & Andrew.

Theodore Miasek; Deputy Treasurer

Ted is a life-long resident of Torrington. He attended local schools and is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University. He is the Assistant Director of Corporate Tax at Travelers Property and Casualty and served for many years as the Treasurer of the Torrington Democratic Town Committee. He is also a former Democratic Town Committee Chairman and former member of the Torrington Board of Finance.

Rod is a life-long resident of Washington. He attended local schools and Mattatuck Community College. He has been active in Democratic politics for more than 20 years and currently serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Washington Democratic Town Committee. He also serves as a member of the Washington Board of Assessment Appeals and the Washington Housing Diversity Committee.

Jeremy is a life-long resident of the City of Torrington. He attended Oliver Wolcott Tech in Torrington and Central Connecticut State University in New Britain. Jeremy will be continuing his education in the fall at Northwestern Community College. For several years, he has been an active member of the Torrington Democratic Town Committee. He has also been involved in several high profile Democratic campaigns which include Howard Dean for President (Organizer for the 5th CD), Koskoff for U.S. Rep. in the 5th CD, Jim Maloney for U.S. Rep. in the 5th CD, Elect/Re-elect Owen Quinn for Mayor of Torrington and Paul Cavegnero for State Rep. for the 65th District.

Andrew Slaiby; Campaign Assistant

Andrew was born and raised in Torrington. He is a senior at the University of Connecticut at Storrs, majoring in Political Science and History. He has served as President of the Associated Student Government at the Torrington UCONN Campus, as well as President of the Mayors Committee on Youth in Torrington. He has been an active member of the Torrington Democratic Town Committee for 4 years. Andrew has managed the campaigns of both a Board of Education and a Probate Judge candidate, and has assisted with several other local political campaigns.

Nicole is a life-long resident of Torrington Connecticut. She attended the Graphic Communications Department at Oliver Wolcott Technical High School. She is currently attending Naugatuck Valley Community College with a Major in Digital Arts Technology.

Brian was born in New York City, and moved to Torrington shortly after his sixteenth birthday. Having over 12 years experiance working with Websites and website design, Brian started his own company earlier this year, and began working with the Friends of Audrey shortly there-after.
