AUDREY BLONDIN ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL

Audrey travels to Washington, CT.

Audrey met briefly with the Washington DTC this afternoon and discussed with them her vision for the Secretary of the States office. The group was a small but very informed bunch of folks and they asked a lot of tough questions about what kind of new leadership does Audrey bring to the race. Audrey responded by saying that none of the other candidates have spent as much time in local government, passing local budgets, holding referendums over schools, dealing with the registrar and town clerks, serving on a local ethics board, etc. Audrey notes that over ten years on the Board of Selectmen you tend to pick up a lot of pointers on crafting more effective governing technique's. Audrey has dealt with unfunded mandates from the state and realizes that with issues like the Electronic Voting Machines that the state and federal government can't put all the financial burden on municipalities. They most keep their promises to the towns and cities when it concerns mandates. Audrey has also spent two terms on the DSCC and does a fabulous job with her " Updates from Audrey email list " keeping people informed on what events are going on around the state . I have to say that Audrey has the experience in both the state and local arenas. Not to mention she can travel to most any DTC in the State and run into someone that she has worked with on past campaigns. Audrey has been volunteering and serving the Democratic cause for over 30 years, something the other candidates cannot claim. Audrey spoke warmly about Rod Wyant, who is our very own Blondin 2006 Deputy Campaigner and the Vice Town Chairman of Washington. Keep up the Good work Roddy!! Audrey heads to the Cromwell DTC tomorrow. Good Luck Audrey.
