Hartford-AP, July 18, 2005 11:45 am) Another Democrat is throwing her hat into the ring in hopes of being Connecticut's next Secretary of the State.

State Representative Evelyn Mantilla filed her papers today and announced that she was running for statewide office. She's represented Hartford in the General Assembly for nine years.

Representative Mantilla is the sixth Democrat campaigning to replace outgoing Secretary of the State, Susan Bysiewicz, who is running for governor.

The field includes Mantilla, Audrey Blondin, Representative Andrew Fleishmann, former Representative Robert Landino, John Nussbaum and Norma Rodriguez-Reyes.
